Should You Join The Lego Insiders Program?
What Is Lego Insiders?
If you’re buying Lego, you’ve probably noticed the prompts: “Sign up for Insiders and earn points!” But what exactly do you get? In short, the Lego Insiders program is Lego’s loyalty system, previously known as the VIP Program. It rewards you with points for purchases (both online and in-store), which you can redeem for discounts, exclusive rewards, and even entry into special raffles. It’s free to join, so the real question is, should you bother?

Insider Points Mean Discounts
Every purchase earns you Insiders points, and these translate into discounts on future buys. The math is pretty straightforward: 1,000 points = $6.50 off. It’s not groundbreaking, but if you’re buying big sets (or even just lots of sets), the points rack up fast. Even casual buyers can score enough for a small discount every few months.
Points are automatically added to your account and can be accessed through the Lego Insiders Card which can be added to your digital wallet (see below).

The Insider Program also offers the opportunity to register your sets on your account, allowing you to track your sets and earn 20 Insider points per set registered. Trust me, points add up fast!
Exclusive Rewards & Insider Sets
This is where things get interesting. Lego offers Insiders-only rewards, everything from digital content and exclusive posters to physical collectibles. Sometimes you’ll find limited-edition sets or unique gifts-with-purchase (GWPs) that only Insiders can claim through the Rewards tab of their account. These are the kinds of extras that get AFOLs buzzing, especially since many of them become rare and valuable down the line. While a lot of these exclusive rewards often put you back a few points, a lot come as free perks with purchases for Insiders, so it is definitely worth joining up!

Raffles, Giveaways, and More
Insiders members also get access to raffles for high-demand sets, signed boxes from designers, and even one-of-a-kind Lego experiences. Yes, it’s a lottery, and no, you’re not guaranteed to win, but it costs only points to enter, and for many collectors, the thrill is worth it. It is worth noting that Lego periodically also provides free-to-enter raffles as a way to give back to the community.
Lego also runs a yearly Wishlist Giveaway, where one lucky winner gets their entire wishlist for free (usually up to $1,000 USD in value). Imagine walking away with your dream collection for being part of a free program. It is really too good to be true.

Extra Perks
- Early access to big releases (Insiders sometimes get 24-hour head starts).
- Birthday rewards (bonus points or special goodies).
- Community activities, quizzes, and challenges that earn extra points.
- Surveys in exchange for points.
None of these perks are game-changing on their own, but together, they add layers of value beyond just discounts.
Takeaways
Lego has always been known to be a great company, dedicated to its community and fans. For many, they offer excellent customer support and a great line-up of toys. But for those who know, Lego offers an excellent Insider Program that gives more than it takes.
So - should you join the Lego Insiders Program? The short answer: most definitely yes. It’s free, it gives you discounts, and the chance at exclusive rewards makes it a no-brainer for anyone who buys Lego regularly. Even if you’re a casual fan or infrequent buyer, why leave points (and potential freebies) on the table? At worst, you’ll save a few bucks. At best, you might score that rare set or even win your wishlist.
